Kenny Dalglish will be a very happy man. Liverpool put in a sub-par performance against Fulham, especially when compared with such a good one against Wolves on Saturday, but still managed to claim the points in a hard fought contest with Fulham. The attractive Tony Bradley Jersey pa s and move style Dalglish has been implementing was only evident in small bursts and during the closing stages, the hosts seemed to be clinging on for dear life to the 1-0 lead a John Pantsil own goal gave them early in the second half. The goal was a gift, a freak accident that should have been simple enough for Pantsil to clear, but the Fulham defender managed to make a hash of it. As Fernando Torres shot at goal, the ball came back off the post and a combination of Pantsil and Stockdale failed to clear. On the second attempt, with Raul Meireles closing in, Pantsil saw the ball slice agonisingly off his shin and into the back of the net.Liverpool fans will argue that the goal was merely balancing things out, after Torres had a goal wrongly ruled out for offside (Sian Ma sey would have got that decision right, surely?) and Liverpool put Stockdales goal under siege for periods of the first half. The Fulham goalkeeper had to be on his toes to make a number of fine saves. As Liverpool failed to claim a second goal, Fulham grew in Wilt Chamberlain Jersey stature and started to knock on the door. Liverpool got a big let off, as Meireles cleared off the line. It looked for a second like the Pantsil incident was about to be repeated, but Meireles managed to slice the ball away, rather than into his own net. Fulham found joy increasingly from an aerial route, exploiting Liverpools lack of strength in the air. In the end though, after a goal line clearance and a few smart stops by Pepe Reina, Liverpool managed to hold on and secure the points. As they say, getting 3 points is the most important thing.Dalglish has certainly reinvigorated this Liverpool side. They are almost unrecognisable from the lifele s team Roy Hodgson had playing his brand of joyle s football. The performance was not great, but it still comfortably eclipsed most of the performances of Hodgsons 6 month regime. Dalglish deserves a lot of credit. Not only have the performances improved, but the results have as well. 7 points from a po sible 12 is a decent start, especially considering the state of the club when Dalglish took over. Under Hodgson the team only managed to put a sequence of league wins together once, over Blackburn, Bolton and Chelsea.Dalglishs promotion of Martin Kelly into the first team has also been a shrewd and pleasing move. The youngster has put in a string of impre sive performances on the right hand side Nerlens Noel Jersey of the Liverpool rearguard. There seems to be a greater willingne s to use the talented youngsters available in important games, instead of throwaway Europa League games. This bodes well for the club.Even players who struggled under Roy Hodgson have managed to improve. For example, Christian Poulsen was terrible when Hodgson used him. Under Dalglish he has put in some decent performances when given the opportunity. Martin Skrtel too, was becoming accident prone and inconsistent. In his last few games he has resembled the defensive rock he used to be. There is still a long way to go, but importantly for Liverpool and for Kenny Dalglish, the team has some belief in itself again and the fans have some belief in the team again.
